2021 Summer Programmes
This is our planned activities for the 2021 Summer Season, subject to UK Government Coronavirus restrictions, click on the relevant RunTogether link to register:
Yr7+ Athletics and Running
For 11-18yr olds – Wednesdays 6.15-7.30pm meet at Rugby Club. You must pre-register via RunTogether before attending.
Thursday Mini Athletics
For Reception-yr2 athletes – Thursdays 5.15-5.45pm at the Rugby Club. This is an athletics games based training session for our little ones, an introduction to the basics of run, throw, jump events. You must pre-register via RunTogether before attending.
Thursday Summer Athletics
For yr3-yr6 junior athletes – Thursdays 6.00-7.00pm at the Rugby Club. This programme normally runs for 12 weeks up to the Summer Holidays. You must pre-register via RunTogether before attending.
Saturday Muddy Running/Athletics
This one is a mix of trail running and athletics activities throughout the summer season for all of our junior athletes. Normally sessions are on Saturdays 9.30am-10.30am at the Rugby Club, but we will have some track and field based training sessions at the Blackbridge track in Gloucester (2.00-3.00pm). You must pre-register via RunTogether before attending.

Membership is £20 for the year, payable in September. Optionally you may affiliate your Junior to England Athletics, this will be an additional cost payable in April – charged at the current EA affiliation cost, but unless you are entering regional events it is unlikely you will need this. About the DRC Junior Section
Our vision is to encourage young athletes to participate and enjoy a wide range of running and athletics activities, providing opportunities for athletic development and competition, embedding a healthy appetite for sport and exercise which will continue into adulthood.
We provide a number of opportunities for Junior Members to take part in running and athletics activities. DRC Junior members are aged between 7 (school year 3) and 18. However we also provide some training opportunities when we are able to for Reception to yr 2 athletes. All training sessions are delivered by DBS checked, UK Athletics qualified coaches and coaching assistants.
